The Program

Designed for beginners, art enthusiasts, and early-career professionals, this intensive Sculpture Training Program offers a comprehensive foundation in both drawing and sculpting techniques essential for mastering figurative art. Students are required to follow each step, ensuring progressive skill development. Classes are held from September to June, with intakes in both September for beginners and January for more experienced practitioners . This 9-month program is structured in progressive modules, each focusing on specific artistic disciplines that build upon one another. This academic training circle goes beyond foundational skill-building, offering a unique opportunity to emerge oneself in the creative community of Athens. With multiple industry exposure opportunities and technical training, this program is ideal for people looking for developing their skills in a supportive, professional environment and for those who seek to build networks and partnerships in the Athenian artistic society.

 

Personalized Guidance and Masterclasses

Led by Konstantinos Kaisaris, this program emphasizes individualized mentorship with a peer-to-peer learning environment, allowing students to receive constructive feedback in real-time. Additionally, students gain unique insights from tutoring received by renowned invited sculptors, broadening their perspectives and enriching their training. Visits in art -foundries, marble workshops and galleries are also part of the program, organized to provide a holistic experience of the professional sculptural practice. 

 

Structure and Curriculum

Drawing and Experimental Techniques (Months 1-3)
Fundamental skills with intensive training in drawing techniques using pencil, charcoal, and mixed media are taught at this first stage. Students engage in  studies of still life, plaster casts, and live drawing, combining observation and form-building abilities essential for sculptural practice and three dimensional drawing. The outcome of this stage is to master fundamental observation skills and the ability to experiment with a variety of materials.

 

Clay Sculpting of the Human Figure (Months 4-6)
The next period transits drawing  into sculpting with hands-on practice focused on the human form. Working with clay and measurement tools, students develop both scaled and life-sized sculptures, gaining academic skills  in clay modelling, human anatomy, portraying  and sketches from a life model.

 

Relief Work and Casting Techniques (Months 7-9)
The training concludes with specialized training in relief sculpture, clay compositions, and the fundamentals of plaster mold-making and casting. This phase emphasizes precision and craftsmanship, culminating in finished pieces that reflect each student’s growth

Students have the chance to attend exclusive workshops led by guest sculptors who are recognized in the art world, giving them direct exposure to diverse techniques, perspectives, and advanced artistic practices.

In addition to traditional sculpting and drawing, students are encouraged to experiment with multimedia approaches and unique materials, blending them into their sculptures. This approach promotes versatility and creativity, helping students push artistic boundaries.

 

Portfolio Development and Professional Presentation
Throughout the course, students work on creating a cohesive portfolio that showcases their progress and skills. Guidance on curation, photo documentation, and presentation will be provided, helping students build a professional portfolio suited for art schools, gallery exhibitions, or personal projects. They will produce a series of completed works, ready for exhibition.

 

 

‘’One of the program’s unique attributes is that students will have the chance to participate in a group exhibition with selected works, in an art gallery showroom  in the centre of Athens, by the end of each academic circle. ‘’
